Welcome to abomb.dev!

I have owned this domain for a while and wanted a straightforward, minimal, and fast personal blog. I didn’t want heavy CMS platforms, databases to maintain, or complex administrative dashboards. All I wanted was:

  1. Simple Markdown authoring: Writing a post is as easy as creating a Markdown file in Git and pushing it.
  2. Static generation: Blazing fast page loads with zero backend attack surface.
  3. GitOps delivery: Native integration with my Kubernetes cluster and Argo CD.
  4. Arm64 & Turing Pi friendly: Lightweight resource footprint that runs effortlessly on energy-efficient nodes.

How this site works

The site is built with Hugo using the clean and responsive PaperMod theme. When changes are committed to the repository:

  • GitHub Actions builds a multi-platform container image (linux/amd64 and linux/arm64) using a multi-stage Docker build.
  • The compiled static HTML, CSS, and assets are packaged into a minimal Nginx container image.
  • The image is pushed to GitHub Container Registry (GHCR).
  • Argo CD detects the update and synchronizes the desired state to the Kubernetes cluster.
  • Ingress routes traffic for abomb.dev with automated TLS certificate management.
