It's been a while, but now that I have moved and settled in I can get back on with 3D printing again! This time, Nerf Blasters!
The Nerf brand was introduced in 1969, and amongst its many products released was foam based darts and balls that could be shot from blasters.
Jump forward 50 years and now we can 3d print custom blasters in any colour and make 1000's of modifications to meet the needs of the user. Or you could make the most multicoloured rainbow of a blaster using all the random bits of filament left in the bottom of your drawer, completely up to you.

The blaster I am printing is from Captain Slug who has many blasters available for free on his Thingiverse page. There are full instructions available for free also. The only problem with printing more powerful blasters is requiring metal parts for the frame and springs etc. There are details on how to DIY this, or Captain Slug sells them as a bundle on an Etsy page which is the route I have gone down.
For now though whilst I wait for parts to be delivered here are the 3D printed parts for the remainder of the blaster below:
All the filament is PLA using Amazon Basics PLA (Affiliate link: https://amzn.to/33IF7Rc ) for both Neon Green and Neon Orange. Because this filament is semi-transparent you can see the infill inside the parts which makes it look even better.
I have printed all parts at 25% infill for some support/strength so will see how they fair once the blaster is fully assembled. The biggest benefit of 3d printed objects is that if one of these parts breaks I can get a new part in place within a few hours. I will follow this up with another post once I can start assembling the blaster in full. Any further questions please ask in the comments.
